NC Chamber to Join NC State and Spoonflower on Oct. 2 to Celebrate NC Manufacturers

| Manufacturing

As the exclusive state affiliate for the National Association of Manufacturers, the NC Chamber is proud to celebrate our state’s leading employer industry and one of its most important engines for technology development and innovation in our state.

On Friday, Oct. 2, and throughout the month of October, dozens of North Carolina manufacturers will participate in Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) by opening their doors to their local communities and students. On Friday, I will participate in the MFG Day celebration co-hosted by NC State Industry Expansion Solutions and Spoonflower, Inc. at the Spoonflower manufacturing facility in Durham from 9:00 a.m. – 10 a.m. Industry Expansion Solutions (IES) is a program partner and administrator for the North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NCMEP), a public-private operating alliance of state-supported programs that work together to enhance the performance of the state’s small to medium-sized manufacturers.

NC State Chancellor Randy Woodson and Duke Energy-NC President David Fountain will also be on hand, as we participate in a tour of a state of the art manufacturing facility and view a presentation on the latest research and development trends shaping the future of textile manufacturing. Chancellor Woodson will offer closing remarks. View more details about this invitation-only event here.

Other NC Chamber staff members will attend various MFG Day events throughout the state.Visit the official MFG Day website to learn more and find out how you can get involved, and join the conversation on Twitter by using the hashtag #mfgday.
