With a GDP that rivals countries such as Iran and Norway, North Carolina is expected to add another 3 million people to its population by 2030. Demand for good jobs, clean water and sound infrastructure will be stretched. In addition, North Carolina’s 65+ population is expected to increase by nearly 1 million people during that time, which places additional burdens on entitlements and the cost of our rapidly growing health care system. A bold plan with strong leadership is needed. Considering everything that is at stake, the private sector must have the courage to move forward with audacious initiatives to secure North Carolina’s future.

The North Carolina Chamber Foundation provides information and proposed solutions on issues critical to our state’s future. These issues will be constantly evolving as there are a multitude of long-term needs that will require additional data and study in order to propose reasonable, deliberate and purposeful solutions.
