The North Carolina Chamber Foundation is developing a long-term policy center that will focus on solutions to North Carolina’s most pressing economic challenges in the coming decades. Using the North Carolina Chamber Foundation as a long-term policy think tank will allow the business community to get out in front on the “Pillars of a Secure Future” outlined in North Carolina Vision 2030, which include education and talent supply, competitive business climate, entrepreneurship and innovation, and infrastructure and growth leadership.
Integral to the success of a long-term vision is measurement along the way. With that in mind, the North Carolina Chamber Foundation contracted with RTI International, an independent, nonprofit institute that provides research, development and technical services to government and commercial clients worldwide, to develop a tool to measure progress on key metrics of success in North Carolina. The first phase of Dashboard 2030 launched in the fourth quarter of 2013 and includes a comprehensive set of metrics and data points that provide real-time indicators of progress – on how North Carolina and its local communities are doing in the global race for jobs. Dashboard 2030 is a crucial tool to holding our state accountable for consistent progress and improvement in North Carolina.
