Legislature Passes Smart Regulations that Keep NC Moving Forward

The General Assembly passed the Coal Ash Management Act of 2014 with broad bipartisan support yesterday. The NC Chamber worked with legislators to ensure common-sense regulations are in place to take care of coal ash clean-up and appropriately manage coal ash storage in the future. Executed properly, this policy proposal could make our state a leader in the region and nation for addressing this critical issue.

To keep our economy moving forward, we need smart regulations that protect the environment. Read the remarks prepared by the NC Chamber on this issue earlier in the legislative session. We will keep you updated as the proposal is sent to Governor McCrory for his consideration.
